Rethinking Franklin Park
Redesigning the Pedestrian Experience for Boston Franklin Park
My project is about reconnecting the adjacent neighborhoods to the park by creating a series of unique, immersive experiences through planting interventions along the North West edge. Using plants to create transportive environments, and designing for the neighborhoods that needs the space most are central to my scheme. Each space offers different interactions with the adjacent neighborhood -- outward facing open spaces, areas tilted up to become a viewshed for those across the street, open groves for barbecues, to name a few. The planting becomes the program by giving the site diversity of ways to be used and experienced.
